Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be out of action until the New Year after suggestions his knee injury is taking longer than expected to heal according to the Mirror.
The Arsenal midfielder suffered the nasty injury in a collision during the Gunners opening day defeat to Aston Villa, and was expected to return to action at least by December.
The England international is yet to return to the training ground and may not step up his recovering and return to practice until mid-December, meaning he is unlikely to feature until January 2014 at the earliest.
The 20-year-old still has every chance to make Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad, however any further setbacks will only increase the pressure on the former Southampton starlet.
Arsenal’s lack of wingers has proven an issue for Arsene Wenger’s side, so the thought of losing The Ox for even longer is frustrating. But one thing is for certain, he should not be rushed back into action.
