Inter Milan have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.
Arsenal are interested in signing Mahrez but have yet to make an offer for the winger because Wenger is currently prioritizing a move for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.
It is claimed that Wenger only considers Mahrez an alternative to the Monaco man but we may now have to step up our interest in the Algerian as Inter Milan have now joined the race for his services.
According to Football.London via the Daily Cannon, Inter Milan director of football Walter Sabatini recently held talks with Mahrez’s camp to ascertain if he would be interested in a move to the San Siro.
Mahrez has already told his club he wants a new challenge and Roma were interested in signing him but they had to drop their interest after Leicester City refused to lower their £50m valuation.
Leicester City’s boss Craig Shakespeare recently revealed the winger’s desire to join a top club but admitted that their valuation must be met.
“He wants to play for a top-six club,” admitted Shakespeare.
“If we don’t get an offer from a top-six club, he stays.
“If that offer comes in and it’s not enough, he stays.
“It is quite clear for me at the moment, he has made that statement but he is our player.”
Leicester showed they meant their word by rejecting Roma’s bid and suitors now know they have to table a huge offer to convince the Foxes to sell.
