Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is interested in Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez.
Mahrez recently revealed he wants to leave the King Power Stadium this summer in order to take the next step of his career and has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.
Following his decision to leave Leicester City, reports have claimed that we are readying a summer bid for the winger and Wenger has now revealed his interest in the winger.
The boss didn’t confirm when he will make an official approach but admitted that he is yet to make a move for the Algeria international.
“Have we made a bid for him? No. Not yet. Not yet means it could happen, it could not happen,” said Wenger.
The boss also went ahead to hail the striker’s qualities.
“I think he had a huge impact at Leicester when they won the championship, like everybody else,” Wenger told Bein Sports.
“It’s been a different season this year but it doesn’t take anything away from his qualities.
Mahrez would be a great addition to our squad especially when we are at risk of losing a star player like Sanchez. The Algerian will come in as a perfect replacement for the Chilean.
However, Mahrez would even be a better signing for us if we are able to convince Sanchez to stay. A midfield trio of Sanchez-Ozil-Mahrez will definitely be devastating.
Gooners, won’t you want such pairing?
