Arsenal legend David Seaman says he is expecting the club to sign at least three new players this summer, according to the Daily Express.
Arsenal have been in the market this summer, but have only completed one signing so far in Stephan Lichtsteiner who joined from Juventus on a free transfer.
Seaman now reveals that with the addition of two defenders and a defensive midfielder to the team, they can get back into the top four next season.
“For me it (the aim) would be top four,” Seaman told ESPN.
“You’ve got to progress on the season before and we were out of the top four and we were getting left behind by quite a few of the big clubs.
“We need to regroup, have a little restructure of the team and then push on, get into the Champions League again and try and improve on that each season.
“It’s not going to be easy because the big guns are quite a way ahead at the moment.
“We need steel in the team, we need a couple of defenders, dominant defenders and a dominant midfield player.
“I think the forward side of it, you can leave that alone because we’ve got a lot of firepower there.
“I’m just a little bit worried about the defence and the art of defending.”
The Gunners are closing in on signing Borussia Dortmund centre back Sokratis Papstathopoulos and Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira. they have also retained interest in Freiburg’s Caglar Soyuncu.
The legendary goalkeeper might just be seeing the three signings at the club in the coming weeks as the new recruitment team seem to be very serious with business this summer.
