Lazio striker Keita Balde Diao is hot on the headlines after being linked with a move to English side Arsenal according to reports by TMW. The Spaniard is a product of the prestigious Barcelona academy, La Masia, but left for Italy in 2011 where he has been playing since.
The forward has been out due to a hamstring injury but is expected to make his return to full training immediately after the international break. Manager Stefano Pioli even believes the youngster could make his return on November 22nd as Lazio host current Serie A Champions Juventus.
Although Keita has a contract with the Italian side until 2018, whether Lazio will hold onto the £24M-rated striker remains to be seen as big spenders like Manchester United and Juventus have also joined Arsenal in declaring their interest.
It’s quite evident that Arsenal prefer spending big on established stars like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. However, The Gunners have proven they’re willing to table lucrative offers for youngsters to enhance their squad after acquiring Calum Chambers, 19, for £16M in the summer.
Since his promotion to the senior team last year, Keita has scored 5 goals in 23 starts for Lazio. Arsenal could however go for Keita next summer after they sort out their unstable back four in the January transfer window.
