Arsenal have continued to keep tabs on Benfica winger Andrija Zivkovic, according to the Daily Cannon.
Last week, reports emerged that Arsenal scouts have been asked to keep tabs on Zivkovic performances as Wenger aim to continue his policy of signing players at their tender age and then nurturing them into top stars.
Arsenal scouts were again present at Benfica’s latest game against Portimonense to watch Zivkovic in action.
The Serbian international has been in fine form of recent, so it isn’t actually surprising that he is getting so much attention from the club at the moment.
He continued to play in the left central midfield role against Portimonense and was among the goals as his team put three past their opponents.
Scouts from Manchester United, Newcastle, West Ham, Paris St. Germain, Juventus, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund were also present at the game and must have caught a glance of Zivkovic.
So it won’t be surprising if any of these clubs try to rival Arsenal for the midfielder’s signature in the future.
Zivkovic is a versatile player who is naturally comfortable on the wings but he’s done perfectly well on a deeper role of recent. His versatility makes him more appealing to clubs.
That said, I don’t think the winger will be leaving Benfica anytime soon. He’s only just begin to feature regularly for the Portuguese outfit and would be better off spending a couple of seasons there.
