Herinkh Mkhitaryan says he has been a big fan of Arsenal since his childhood and is relishing the chance of playing for his dream club.
The Armenia international became a Gunner last month, after becoming frustrated with his ill-fated spell at Manchester United. He was subsequently included as part of the swap deal that took Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford in mid-January.
The Armenia international is now relishing the opportunity to play for a club he supported as a child.
“I loved the way that Arsenal were playing at the time,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Star.
“I loved the way Arsene Wenger was treating his players, I loved the way that everything was happening around the club.
“So it was just a dream, it was a drive to say ‘why not? I am supporting Arsenal and I want to play for that club as well”
Mkhitaryan has made two Premier League starts for Arsenal since completing his move and already has three assists to his name. Although he couldn’t get us past Tottenham Hotspur, they helped us cruised past Everton a week earlier.
Once Mkhi and fellow winter signing Aubameyang settles in fully, Arsenal would definitely perform better than they did against Spurs on Saturday afternoon.
